Camping

I bought a camper this Christmas. Looking forward to a bunch of trips in 2020 and beyond. The camper is an r-pod 180 travel trailer. R-pod is a brand produced by the Forest River company. The r-pod line was developed with a retro look and is a lightweight camper weighing in at under 4,000 pounds loaded.

The 180 model that I bought features a queen bed at the front with a two person dinette on the camp side of the trailer (passenger side) that converts into a bed for one person. The driver's side of the camper has slide out for the kitchen with a 3-way refrigerator with freezer, a two-burner propane stove, and a stainless steel sink. The bathroom in the rear of the camper features a separate stall shower, sink and toilet.  This configuration is known as a 'dry bath' because the shower and toilet are separate.

Other inside features are a panoramic front window as well as sliding windows with screens in the bed area, the dinette area, and kitchen. There's a storage shelf above the bed, a foot operated power vacuum system, and cabinets throughout the cabin. The audio system has two speakers inside and two outside. It has Bluetooth, HDMI, and USB connections. The 12 volt 28" television also supports HDMI inputs. The furnace under the bed runs on propane and the air conditioning works with the 120 volt electrical system when plugged in. Outside, the camper has a powered awning with an integrated LED light strip and an outdoor shower with hot and cold water. There are also storage compartments accessible from the outside.

I will be posting updates throughout the year as I travel. Oh, and his name is Rover. Rover Pod. You can follow us on Instagram, too.
