Sunday, May 27, 2012 - Blackwater Trading Post
We launched again from Blackwater Trading Post on Blackwater Road. And no, it was NOT raining this time. It was HOT! :) But we had fun. Interestingly, the water was about 2 feet higher than it was last week. We explored some of the small creeks that come off Blackwater Creek. Very peaceful.
The Osprey in the nest on the platform was very alert. I wonder if that means that the eggs are ready to hatch or have already hatched. We also found two geocaches by accident. Just by searching around likely spots. Last week, we had seen lots of swallows flying around. This time we didn't see any until we got back to Blackwater Road. There were TONS of them under the road. And we figured out why. Their nests are under the road on the concrete pilings. Very cool.
Two hours and 48 minutes on the water. 5.6 miles on the GPS.
